Common questions
How do I learn to play?
Choose Learn to play on the main menu. Seven guided practice lessons cover entering stones, rosettes, captures, the sanctuary, passing, and exact rolls to finish. Practice does not change your saved game or achievements.
How do I continue a game?
Your game saves after rolls and moves. Choose Continue your journey on the main menu. Starting a new journey replaces the current game but keeps completed achievements and settings.
Why can’t I move a stone?
A stone must move exactly the dice total. You cannot land on your own stone, or an opponent on the central sanctuary rosette. Finishing needs an exact roll. A zero or no legal move passes the turn. Turn on Route to see the numbered path.
How do achievements work?
The Treasury lists six achievements and their progress. Completed games count toward captures and rosette visits. AI victories unlock Jade and Royal Gold; finishing any game unlocks Obsidian. Local games do not count as AI wins. There are no paid unlocks.
How do I play with a friend?
Begin a journey and choose Pass & play. Both players use the same iPad, with a handoff screen between turns.
Why can’t I hear the music?
Check the music and sound-effect settings, iPad volume and silent mode, and connected headphones. Audio pauses outside the app. After disconnecting headphones, return to the app or use the audio controls to resume.
Does progress sync to another iPad?
No in-game cloud sync is included. Saves, achievements and settings stay on the device. Deleting the app removes local data; device backups may retain copies. Please avoid deleting the app when troubleshooting progress.
What if my save cannot be read or written?
The game tries the previous good save and preserves unreadable data for recovery. If saving fails, free storage and contact support before deleting the app. Include the exact save notice.
Does the game need internet?
Gameplay, four AI opponents, tutorial, music and achievements work offline. Optional website links and email require a connection.
Which rules does it use?
A modern Finkel-style reconstruction with a random opening player, four binary dice and seven stones per side. How to play explains the full rules and links to the reference. Historical reconstructions differ.
